The Aurora Australis has been kicking off lately, thanks to the sun reaching its solar maximum. This project, in collaboration with Royal Society Te Apārangi, features Prime Minister’s Science Communication Prize winner Ian Griffin, who shares expert insights on capturing the aurora using your phone or DSLR camera.

Filmed at Star Field Observatory in Martinborough, with support from the Wellington Astronomical Society, this video guide provides practical photography tips and explains the how, when, and where of aurora chasing.
