Wellington DOP & camera operator.

Kia ora, I'm Jared. I'm a Wellington-based filmmaker available as a director of photography (DOP), camera operator or self-shooting videographer for documentary, commercial and corporate productions.

I work on shoots throughout Wellington and am available to travel elsewhere in New Zealand. I can join an existing crew or take care of filming on smaller productions, with my own camera, lighting and sound equipment.

Working with you

An approach that fits your production.

I've been making films since 2012, from location documentaries and interviews to brand campaigns, government content and long-running video series.

I'm comfortable working with a director, producer and existing crew, or handling camera, lighting and sound for smaller shoots. Depending on the project, you can book me as a DOP, camera operator or self-shooting filmmaker. I'm happy to get involved early to talk through the visual approach, shot list and technical requirements.

I can also set up a remote video-call feed so a producer or client can follow the shoot and offer feedback without being on set.

I have my own camera, lens, lighting and sound equipment for location shoots and interviews. The kit can be tailored to the production, with additional equipment or specialist crew brought in when needed.

FAQ

Can I book you just as a DOP or camera operator?

Yes. I can join your existing production as a director of photography or camera operator, or work as a self-shooting filmmaker on smaller shoots.

Can you bring a camera and lighting package?

Yes. I have my own equipment, and can help work out a suitable package for the brief. Additional gear or crew can be arranged where needed.

Do you work outside Wellington?

Yes. I'm based in Wellington and regularly work on shoots in the region, but I'm also available to travel elsewhere in New Zealand by arrangement.

Can a producer or client view the shoot remotely?

Where the internet connection and setup allow, I can arrange a video-call feed for remote viewing and feedback. Let me know in advance if you'd like to use this on your shoot.

What kinds of shoots do you take on?

Documentary, interview, corporate and government video, commercial and brand productions, and location filming — either with your crew or as a smaller production setup.
